Vegans Have The Healthiest Hearts Thanks To Their Diet

The primary factor of our health is proper nutrition, and yet, it`s annoying how marginalized this theme is in doctors studies. Sadly, the doctors seem to be inadequate in teaching their patients how to improve their health through proper nutrition, or, in some cases, they give advice based on studies, that were actually organized and paid by the food industry. Thus, we live in an era of the most advanced chemical medication industry. This is an additional reason for “forgetting” that most of the health problems can be solved throughout a proper diet.

The affair of frauds is starting to emerge, as the “scientifically proved” studies that served only to the foods industry growth, were exposed by real, science-based studies. It seems like finally, people started becoming conscious about the many flaws modern diet has. Our attention should be focused on the manipulation of science and further on, the mass marketing, which serves as a distribution channel, for completely wrong reasons. Besides, can we prescribe to coincidence the fact that right now, there are plenty of editors-in-chief of peer-reviewed journals which are trying to refute the facts that researchers published in the last few decades? Will you give more credit to the new publications, which offer new perceptions, quite different from the ones presented by the food industry?

Surprisingly, documents which allow us to get an insight of the media and science press manipulation, were uncovered by recent FOIA investigation. These showed the scam helped by Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is hard to believe, as the government agencies, for a pretty long time, are engaged in breaking media manipulation. Thus, many of the mainstream media journalists and news anchors were trying to put a light on this situation, again and again.

So, it seems like we have been following the wrong directions when it comes to our health. The modern diet was based on wrong postulates, and it`s time for people to take their health into their own hands. The disease rates keep rising, and among the other reasons, the meat consumption stands out as the biggest culprit.

How the proper diet affects the health condition of the heart

Studies are confirming the health benefits of meat-free eating. Nowadays, plant-based eating is recognized as not only nutritionally sufficient but also as a way to reduce the risk for many chronic illnesses.”

If we see it from a biological perspective, a diet that doesn`t include meat brings great benefit to our health. Then, why is it so hard for the mass, in general, to abandon this type of lifestyle? Some will say that we`ve been doing this for thousands of years, and is working great, but this is not completely true. It`s a fact that our ancestors were hunting, but, the meat was a ‘rare treat,’ while their main diet was still plant-based. Additionally, many experts agree that our digestive system isn`t built for digesting meat on a daily basis. As Katherine Milton, an anthropologist by title, claimed that back then, part of them had “different yet successful diets.” She argued that most of our ancestors gathered energy from plants, even in hunter-gatherer societies. However this “does not imply that this is the ideal diet for modern humans, nor does it imply that modern humans have genetic adaptations to such diets.”

Scientific American had published an article “Human Ancestors Were Nearly All Vegetarians”, written by Rob Dunn, which explains the evolutionary perspective of this situation. The final conclusions are that our body is made to perform its best on a vegetarian diet, by adding meat to the diet from time to time, as a rare treat.

We must stress out that everything is not black and white.

The health is affected by literally everything people do, especially diet. A vegan/vegetarian diet is proven to be highly beneficial for our health. Therefore, nutrition comes to the fore when we look at heart health. In the U.S., most of the deaths are initiated by the wrong diet.

“Our standard American diet, also known as SAD, has put our country at the top of the list in the world for obesity, which increases the risk for serious health problems. Overwhelming scientific evidence links the consumption of meat and meat products to numerous diseases. . . . The World Health Organization (WHO) now places red and processed meat at the same danger level as cigarettes and asbestos. Meat is the new tobacco.”

– Dr. Joanne Kong

Here`s a graphic picture below to show you the greatest killer in America today. It`s not a coincidence that vegans, followed by vegetarian, are the least likely to die from heart disease.

The American Dietetic Association also confirmed those facts on a paper, arguing that “appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.”

This refers to diabetes, cancer, heart disease etc.

Other great names stand for this behavior too. Among them is Dr. Kim A. Williams, the President of the American College of Cardiology. It`s not a surprise that he has adopted a vegan diet himself.

His daily routine includes helping patients that are overweight and struggle with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol. The best way to fight them all at the same time is through diet. As Dr. Kim advices, it`s highly recommended for them to go vegan. He is also the Chairman of Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. His commitments for plant-based diet came from various studies that he conducted himself. All of them prove that people who apply vegetarian diet live longer than meat eaters. Thus, the death rates caused by heart disease, diabetes, and kidney problems, are significantly lower at plant-eaters groups. Being

The number of professionals which give credit to these studies is rapidly increasing, as science keeps proving that vegan/vegetarian diet can even cure multiple diseases that we thought weren`t possible to disappear by any known medical treatment.

For example, Dr. Dean Ornish joined the group, and the results of his study showed that people that applied vegan diet had less coronary plaque and fewer cardiac events.

Luckily, there are plenty more like these two.

Here`s what Dr. Ellsworth Wareham, a heart surgeon, has to explain in this direction:

“Veganism is a very fine form of nutrition. It’s a little extreme to tell a person who is using flesh foods that you’re going to take everything entirely away from them. When I was in practice in medicine, I would tell the patients that the vegetable-based diet was the healthy way to go, and to keep away from the animal products as much as possible. People are very sensitive about what they eat. You can talk to people about exercising  relaxation, good mental attitude and they will accept that. But you talk to them about what they are eating and people are very sensitive about that. If an individual is willing to listen, I will try to explain to them on a scientific basis of how I think it’s better for them.”

As this nutrition form popularity keeps growing, further scientific studies are incited. Nowadays, the veganism is the fastest growing lifestyle. Here are the numbers to confirm this: in 2006 only 150,000 people were officially vegans, and now, the number has grown to at least 542,000 people in Britain only. Additionally, another 521,000 vegetarians are likely to twist.

The collaboration between Drs. T. Colin Campbell and Thomas Campbell resulted in the greatest study in this field, titled “The China Study.” They managed to show that there is a direct correlation between diet and heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Thus, the study serves as a proof that the nations who are likely to use plant-based diet don`t suffer from these diseases at all, or the numbers are low, compared to the meat eaters. And, most importantly, diseases that have already settled can be reversed by switching to vegan diet.

What skepticisms have to say to this?

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

– Carl Sagan

The main problem with the universal truths is that we have accepted the beliefs as truths and cherish them for years. It`s really hard when someone strongly believes in something, and suddenly someone forces him/her to accept that “his whole life was a lie.” The information that conflicts our beliefs, our defensive system is naturally, instantly rejected – a state known as cognitive dissonance. This is the exact reason why you can`t talk to a meat-eater the benefits of veganism/vegetarianism.

Finally, a vegan/vegetarian diet, or let`s say, a diet that doesn`t include meat consumption, is far healthier than the meat-based diet.

The human consciousness is slowly waking up and their lifestyle begins to change rapidly. Luckily, this means bigger transparency not only in food industry, but our health industry, the financial industry, our political systems, and more. We finally realize that the real truth in many fields was misrepresented for far too long. And, it`s time to make a change.
